Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park is a 82.94 ha (204.94 acres) Florida state park in Leon County, Florida, about 8.0 kilometres (5 mi) north of downtown Tallahassee. It preserves the Lake Jackson Mounds (8LE1), the capital of a Fort Walton culture chiefdom that occupied the region between about 1050 and 1500 and one of the largest Mississippian mound centers in the lower Southeast. At its height the complex comprised seven earthen platform mounds grouped around one or more plazas, together with village residences and surrounding farmland.
